Trip Summary

Itinerary

Your unforgettable Egypt Christmas tour 5 day begins as an Egypt day trips representative greets you upon arrival at Luxor Airport or Luxor railway station. From there, you’ll be comfortably transferred to board your luxurious 5-star Nile cruise, the heart of your Egypt tour package.

After lunch on the Nile, the afternoon will take you on a guided tour of Luxor's East Bank, beginning with the mighty Karnak Temple, the greatest religious complex ever constructed. Be awestruck by the main hall of the hypostyle with those towering columns and, of course, take time to enjoy the sprawling temple grounds, built and enlarged over the centuries by various pharaohs.

Then, head towards the magnificent Luxor Temple, built by Pharaoh Amenhotep III and finished by Ramses II. This sacred site hearkens back to ancient times when rites and festivals were held here in honor of Amun.

Return to your cruise for dinner on board and relax as your Egypt Christmas and New Year tour officially sets sail.

Overnight in Luxor.

After breakfast onboard your 5-star Nile cruise, your expert Egyptologist guide will companion you to explore the legendary West Bank of Luxor—a highlight of your Egypt Christmas tour package and one of the most iconic stops in any Egypt tour.

Start with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the royal necropolis where over 60 pharaohs were buried, including the world-famous tomb of King Tutankhamun. While entry to three tombs is included, the exact ones visited rotate based on preservation efforts by the Egyptian government.

Next, marvel at the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari. This stunning monument, carved into the cliffs of Thebes, was built in the 15th century BC for Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh. Conclude your Christmas in Egypt tour with a photo stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

After returning to the ship, let lunch welcome you as you sail into the picturesque sunset to Edfu, while keeping everlasting memories of your magical Egypt Christmas and New Year tour.

Dinner will be served onboard.
Overnight in Edfu.

After breakfast, enjoy a charming carriage ride to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. The temple is truly glorious, standing as the most complete and best-preserved temple ever built in ancient Egypt, with very tall columns and halls gorgeously painted, along with inner sacred chambers that bring history alive. Go through an entrance of towering twin pylon gates, where statues of Horus—the falcon god—stand proudly. It's an unforgettable highlight of your Egypt Christmas tour package and a must-see on any Egypt tour.

After your guided Egypt tour in Edfu, head back to the 5-star Nile cruise for a lunch sail to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, take a look at the one-of-a-kind Temple of Kom Ombo, built in honor of the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. This deliciously strange dual temple offers a fascinating view into ancient Egyptian religion and medicine.

Your journey proceeds, going southward to Aswan, tasting dinner and enjoying a moment of peace onboard. In the spirit of the season, the Nile should swell with your magical Christmas and New Year in Egypt adventure as it flows gently under the starlit sky.

Overnight in Aswan.

After breakfast on your Nile cruise, your private tour guide will take you on an excursion to explore Aswan—a highlight of any well-crafted Egypt tour package and a memorable part of your Christmas in Egypt tour.

You'll sail by boat to Agilika Island, home to the majestic Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. This iconic site was carefully relocated and preserved during the construction of the High Dam, making it one of the great rescue efforts of ancient Nubian monuments in southern Egypt.

Discover the temple’s elegant colonnades, towering pylons, and intricate reliefs—an absolute must-see on any Egypt Christmas and New Year tour—featuring Egypt’s last surviving hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions.

Enjoy lunch and dinner onboard your deluxe 5-star Nile cruise as your journey continues in elegance and comfort.

Overnight in Aswan.

After enjoying your final breakfast onboard your 5-star Nile cruise, it’s time to disembark at 08:00 am. Thereafter, you will be taken comfortably to Aswan Airport or Aswan railway station, from where your memorable 5-day Egypt Christmas and New Year tour will come to an end.

This magical journey through the very heart of ancient Egypt with timeless history and the festive spirit will yield many cherished memories for your Egypt Christmas tour package.

To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey throughout Egypt, we suggest you pack the following items:

  • Valid Passport (at least 6 months): Double-check that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned arrival date in Egypt, as this is often a requirement for entry.
  • Sun Protection: Given Egypt’s sunny climate, we recommend packing high-SPF sunscreen and lip balm with sun protection to shield your skin from the intense sun.
  • UV-Blocking Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from UV rays and reduce glare while sightseeing, especially when exploring outdoor sites like the Pyramids.
  • Hand Sanitizer: Hygiene is important, particularly when handwashing isn’t always accessible, so be sure to bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
  • Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, particularly in the heat. A refillable water bottle will help you stay refreshed while reducing plastic waste.
  • Insect Repellent: Particularly useful when visiting sites surrounded by nature, insect repellent will keep pesky bugs at bay and protect you from bites.
  • Appropriate Clothing for the Season:
    • Winter: If traveling during the cooler months, pack a warm jacket, sweater, and thermal layers.
    • Summer: Lightweight, breathable cotton clothes are ideal for staying cool in the hot weather.
  • Wide-Brimmed Hat: A hat provides shade and helps protect your face and neck from direct sun exposure.
  • Travel Adapter: Different countries have varying plug types, so bring a universal travel adapter to keep your electronics charged.
  • Camera or Smartphone: Capture stunning memories from your trip with a camera or your phone. Egypt’s ancient sites are perfect for photos!
  • Compact Umbrella: Though Egypt is mostly dry, a small umbrella can be handy during the rare rain showers, especially if you're traveling during the transitional months.
  • Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking during your sightseeing, so pack sturdy and comfortable shoes suitable for exploring archaeological sites and urban areas.
  • Medications: If you take prescription medication, ensure you have an adequate supply for the duration of your trip. Also, carry any over-the-counter medications you may need for common issues like headaches or stomach discomfort.
